This week I’m traveling to Austin with my Mom. My goal for this trip is to eat some great food, have a little change of scenery, and gain some creative inspiration for Think Crafty’s spring line.

We are only one day into our trip and it is already getting goofy. Mom said she hadn’t been able to take a selfie on her new phone. Well, obviously I had to teach her.

November is Austin is great. So far the weather has been a wonderful- a balmy 75°F during the day and crisp 4os in the evenings. With temperatures warmer than we are accustom, taken to strolling around downtown. Earlier today, we walked right through an yoga street festival and were met head-on by a wandering New Orleans style jazz band. Yoga jazz…a wonderfully, weird juxtaposition that can only happen in a town like Austin.

I haven’t been to Austin in almost eight years and a lot has changed. We have noticed a fair amount of construction downtown.  From our hotel room we have a great view of the city’s growth.

I’m excited for the rest of our week. I’ll post more inspirational photos once I get back to Durham.
